Last night, the Madison Junior High choirs gave a fantastic performance. The choir teacher, Mr. French, conducted
and accompanied the choir! Even with some of the students wearing masks, they had great volume and annunciation. The first choir that performed sang "The Candy Man," "Home on the Range," "A Spoonful of Sugar," and "I See the Light." 7th grader Mariah Ricks said that her favorite part of choir is seeing her friends and performing at concerts - and it shows! The choir had great energy while singing.

Select choir also gave an impressive performance. They sang "La La Land (Choral Highlights)" and "Simon and Garfunkel: Reunion." The "La La Land" medley had several difficult key changes and rhythms, but Select Choir made it seem easy. You could see their enthusiasm from the back of the auditorium, and part of that comes from Mr. French. "He brings a certain spunk. He...cares about making it sound good...not just hitting the notes," said Freshman Megan Willmore. Allison Wilwand, another Freshman, said that she likes expressing herself through song, and you could say the same for several of the other performers.

These choirs didn't just hit their notes--they felt the music.
