Tuesday, December 14th, the 9th grade girls basketball team defeated Rigby at Madison High school. It was an intense game, with Madison down in the first half, but they came back for the win! Megan Rydalch, one of the girls on the basketball team said, “We all played very well and had great team work.”

At half time the score was 12-17 with Rigby in the lead. Then, the third quarter belonged to Madison and they were able to tie it up at 22-22. Jocelyn Jeppesen made a great shot from right underneath the basket, and there were some important free throws during the game.

During the 4th quarter, the Bobcats were ahead at 25-22, when Rigby made two free throws which brought the score to 25-24. Madison answered back and soon they were leading 27-24. Rigby was trying as hard as they could, and they made a couple of baskets. With two minutes left in the game, the score was 29-29. The game was getting really intense.

A timeout was called, and the teams discussed their final strategies. Rigby made one free throw and took the lead, 30-29. Another timeout was called, with 50 seconds left. The game resumed and Navy Anderson shot, but missed, and then luckily, she rebounded it to shoot again! The ball sank through the net! Now the score was 31-30! The Bobcats held on to that score for the last thirty seconds and that was the final score of the game! Great job girls!
