On Thursday, October 21st, the boys Madison Freshman Football team had a very important win against their rival team, the Rigby Trojans, at Rigby to keep their winning streak alive.
Going into this game, the Bobcats knew that this was going to be the hardest game of the whole season, and they had the confidence that they were going to win this game.

The start of the game was not in Madison's favor. Madison started with the ball and had a quick 3 and out. Rigby got the ball inside their own 20 yard line and drove the ball all the way down to Madison's 15 yard line with 10 minutes remaining in the 2nd quarter. That is a long drive, but they did not score. Madison got the ball back at their own 15 and once again the Rigby defense held them there, forcing them to punt. The Rigby offense started the drive after the punt at the 50 yard line and took the ball into the endzone for a halftime score of 6-0 Rigby.

Coming into the locker room, Madison was not happy, especially the coaches. The first thing that Coach Mumm said was, “Do you guys even want to be here? You guys showed up here like you don’t even want to play. You guys need to come out with piss and vinegar and show them who you are.

“Coach Parkinson then said, “I 100% agree with what Mumm said. “You guys have no heart. You guys go out there and kick their butts on their home field.” The whole team was angry and was ready.  Going out of the locker room, the whole team was in a full sprint ready to kick their butts.

At the start of the second half, Rigby started with the ball and Madison got a quick 3 and out and forced them to punt. Madison started with great field position and drove it down and scored with a score of 6-6 because Bryce Dredge missed the extra point. Rigby got the kick off and once again Madison forced them to punt, but Carry Fa blocked a punt and Madison started with the ball at Rigby’s 15 yard line. Madison handed off the ball to Barkley Beck and he rushed it in for another Madison touchdown.

At the start of the 4th quarter Madison was kicking off to Rigby. Madison forced a fumble and recovered, setting them up with a first & 10 at the 45 yard line. Madison threw the ball to Tanner Johnson and he scored and scored the 2 point conversion putting them up 22-6. That ended up being the final score.
We are all so proud of the football team for going undefeated and we all hope that this continues into the future!
