On January 26th, 2022 our freshmen boys basketball team played Rigby at Madison High School. Rigby games are always intense and this was no different. We started off pretty well with the lead going back and forth between the two teams throughout the game. We played some great defense against Rigby. We kept the score pretty low throughout the game.
A teacher at MJH, Mrs. Rhodes, said, “I was on the edge of my seat for most of the game because Rigby took the lead a couple of times.”
At the beginning of the 4th quarter we were down 28 to 33. We came out strong though and started to pull ahead. Rigby's parents were getting pretty heated. One lady from Rigby got a little too mad at one of the refs calls. The ref kicked her out of the game!
We were playing hard and soon took the lead over ahead of Rigby. Rigby was in foul trouble and we went to the free throw line many times towards the end, increasing our lead. At the end of the game, we beat Rigby by seven points with the ending score being 43 to 36.
Mr. Carlson, the principal at Madison Junior High, stated,” “I love when we beat Rigby, because I get to wear my Madison tie to church on Sunday.” It certainly was an awesome win. The JV team and the Varsity team also both went on to beat Rigby later that night! We love to beat Rigby! Great job, Bobcats!
