Our junior high boys basketball teams played at Sugar on Wednesday, January 19. 7th grade boys started off the game in full court pressure. They scored early and kept their lead for the rest of the game. We were soon up by 30 points in the first half. The second half started and Sugar started pressing us! Our team broke it easily though passing the ball up the court and finishing with a layup underneath the hoop. Rhett Hammond scored two 3-pointers putting us up by even more. The game ended with Madison up by 39 points.
Mia Walsh, an 8th grader at MJH said, “The 7th graders played really amazing and they are really fun to watch.” The final score was 62-23.
The 8th graders' game started with the lead going back and forth for the first quarter. We soon took off though. Everyone on our team was contributing to the score and we were soon up by about 20 points. By the end of the game all of the players on the team had gotten playing time and they were all on fire. Madison made three-pointer after three-pointer and the crowd was loving it.
Logan Nelson, an 8th grader on the team, said, "We all worked really well as a team and almost everyone was able to score some points. It was a great game."
By the end of the game we were up by 40 points. The final score was 73-31.
