Hey! This is for anyone that is having a hard time with friends! I am a freshman and have gone through my share of bad friends. I have learned that as Jim Valvano said, "A day is not complete until you laugh, cry, and think." So if your friends only making you cry, ditch them! If they don't appreciate you as the most amazing person you are, ditch them! If they are trying to "fix" you, ditch them! They are not the only people in the world that want to talk to you, and I promise you that you will look back to find that you weren't happy. People aren't perfect, so if they mess up once, don't jump to conclusions. If they don't listen to you and don't respect your boundaries, they aren't ever going to if you don't say something. If you have talked to them many times about it, just tell them that if they don't respect you and your boundaries, you can't hang out with them as much. You should never sacrifice your happiness and well-being for people that won't do the same! Love yourself first! There is a musical from the the 1940s called Oliver! based on a Charles Dickens Book about a boy who is lost and is working for a very bad person to earn money, but he doesn't want to work for him. There is a woman named Nancy who loves this man and is so loyal that she doesn't care is he is evil. She loves him no matter what. She sings this beautiful song called "As Long As He Needs Me" about how she will love him as long as he needs her. The problem is she doesn't like how Oliver is being treated and tries to help him, but Nancy gets caught and is killed by the man she thought loved her. Nancy was a loyal and wonderful woman. She would do anything to help others, but that made her forget herself and what she needs. I relate to Nancy in the way that I would die for a stranger if it means they are happy, but unlike Nancy, I know that being around people that don't care about me don't deserve to be around the wonderful person I call myself! I hope each and every one of you know you are loved and deserve to be loved!!!! "What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything its value." -Thomas Paine

While I don't have an experience I would like to share a quote that's helped me through hard times and it goes lie this "If you enter this world knowing you are loved and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with."-Michael Jackson
I have had people talking really bad stuff about me and it really hurts. They where saying stuff like "oh its just a joke its not that deep" and it just made me hate my self even more but I had my friends here to support me and help me through it and now I don't care what people say that much.
I had people saying mean/bad words to me these past 2 trimesters and I was feeling that I needed some alone time. If anyone is doing the same thing, walk away and be alone.
School is hard but I love the social aspect. Work hard and be strong.
I feel like school can be really hard and something I've really struggled with is getting assignments in on time its a new trimester and I feel like I'm failing everything but the truth is there's so much going on in my life I can't get everything done some teachers are going to give you a lot of work and not enough time to do them and that isn't up to you you can't control that but you can take it one step at a time organizing assignments based on how much you want to do them actually really helped me get the stuff I hated out of the way first then slowly get to the more enjoyable assignments.
"If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail." --Benjamin Franklin
Guys, I had a rough past 2 tris. I've had bad grades, bullies, and many other things. I was really insecure and I thought that everyone hated me. Then, I met my best friend. She made me feel confident and less insecure. She made me feel like I belong. Guys, if you feel the same way I did, don't. Know that someone out there loves you, including me. I hope y'all have a good last trimester, and make it the best one!!!
You never know what kind of day someone is having. A smile, holding the door, or helping someone out might seem small, but it can mean everything to them. Think about a time when someone did that for you it probably made your day a little better. Today, be that person for someone else.
Being a student isn’t always easy, but every day teaches me something—about school, about people, and about myself. Even on boring or stressful days, I show up, learn, and keep moving forward. Every small effort counts, and each day helps shape who I’m becoming.
