Colour Guard
The Madison Colour Guard consists of three teams, the varsity team which consists of 9th through 12fth graders competing in UCGC (Utah Colour Guard Circuit) with their show “An Imposter,” a Sherlock Holmes themed show.
The next team is the JV team with 7th graders to 12fth graders. Their show is Wild West Adventure, a western themed show.
The final team is the Junior Winter Guard team, consisting of 4th through 6th graders, who are performing their show Singing in The Rain.
Colour guard is typically described as the flag wavers for the marching band, but they also have their own dance sport with amazing performances by teams across the country.
Those in guard don’t only spin flags, they also spin rifles, sabres, hoops, air blades and swing flags. They use the equipment to visually enhance the performance and the Madison Colour Guard team spends hours working on the equipment each week.
